I was born and brought up in a Methodist family in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. After completing a degree in English and Philosophy at Hull University I went on to train to be a secondary school teacher in English and Drama and taught in schools in Hull and Doncaster as well as working for a time for NCH Action for Children. I trained for the ministry at York Institute for Community Theology and completed my first five years in Lincoln South Circuit before moving to Fareham, Hampshire in August 2013 to be a Circuit minister in the East Solent and Downs Circuit. I'm married to John who works in the NHS as a mental health nurse. We have two children Ben and Sam. Outside of church life my interests include - reading fiction; spending time in the kitchen, especially baking cakes; and going to the gym to offset the calories from eating chocolate!
