Rev Pauline Crispin
Circuit Minister
Pauline Crispin came to the East Solent and Downs Circuit in September 2023. She has previously served in the Central Sussex United Area, West Sussex (Coast and Downs) Circuit, Christchurch and Wimborne Circuit where she was Superintendent.
Pauline studied at Wesley College Bristol, for four years, where she achieved a First-Class BA Honours degree in Theology and Ministry.
She enjoys leading worship that is relaxed, contemporary and informal. She also values leading quiet reflective worship, for example, using Taizé songs and meditations. Pauline also is adept however, in leading more formal traditional worship. In all styles of worship her aim is to bring a sense of the wonder and presence of God.
Being a visual theologian, Pauline often uses imaginative, artistic, and creative ways of prayer and worship.
She has particularly appreciated and valued ministering with and to those who may have been marginalised because of disabilities, their diversity, background, ethnicity, culture, or other differences. She has a passion to work with and support churches to rediscover this, recognising that this can mean embracing change, not for change’s sake, but so ‘The Church’ can be relevant in the 21st Century.
Pauline is also the District Probationer and under 7s Secretary. Supporting those in their early years in ministry.
Supported by her husband Richard and their three grown-up children. When possible, she loves spending time with her family. Her other great passion is gardening, where she uses her creativity.
